Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz or Kororinpa: Marble Mania?
Reviews seem to stongly favour SMB, but I've seen Kororinpa
talked about more here.

Looking for single-player rather than multi-player quality.
Both have been critised for being a bit short, is this an issue?

Kororinpa isn't the longest game in the world, but frustratingly fun. The
45 levels plus mirror mode are challenging enough, plus unlockable balls and
levels as well as time-taken awards make it a bargain. You can get it for
less than £25 at Gamestation, but its even less online.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is even more annoying (for me at least) than
the ones that went before it. I can't play it for more than 3 minutes
without wanting to blow my head up or smash the controller off the screen.
Although I really like the concept, I don't think any Monkey Ball game got
the playability/frustration/addictiveness balance just right yet -and I'm
never going to buy another one unless they do something radical.
Something along the lines of a "Back on Track" button would be good, where
you get a limited number of presses to save your ass just as you know you're
about to topple off.
A future SMB game with that might catch my interest.

I haven't played or seen Kororinpa, but it can't be more frustrating that
SMB.

I found Super Monkey Ball hugely disappointing on the Wii. The good:

* The controls work really well. They're just perfect for it.
* The graphics are excellent, retaining the character of the previous games
* The levels (apart from the caveats below) are well designed.

The bad:

* FUCKING END OF LEVEL BOSSES. I mean, what kind of retarded mind puts bosses
in a game like SMB?
* The jump button. No, no, no.
* Random enemies wandering around the world, which prevent you from perfecting
a route through a level.
* The mini-games. They all suck. All of them.

Overall, it's not a /bad/ game per se, but there's a lot of stuff that seems
to be bolted on "just because".

I found myself irritated that in order to stop moving in Super Monkey
Ball, you need to hold the Wiimote upwards at about a 50 degree angle;
whereas in Kororinpa, flat means flat. I much prefer the latter.

I mostly agree. The graphics and controls are really superb.
I enjoy the bosses. They have a lot of character and are good fun to
fight. They're mosty easy so far, too.
I feel neutral about the random enemies because I'm a single-player so
am not after perfect times.
I like the jump button.
I dislike the wide difference between the monkeys. I can be playing a
level as GonGon and getting no-where at all but if I play as AiAi I'll
beat it first time.
The minigames are awful.
